Pre-Treatment Advice for Permanent Makeup
To ensure the best results from your permanent makeup treatment, please follow the pre-treatment advice below:
1. General Pre-Treatment Guidelines
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin or ibuprofen) 24 hours before your appointment to minimize bleeding and swelling.
• Do not take fish oil, vitamin E, or any other natural blood thinners for at least one week prior to treatment.
• If you have a cold, flu, or any skin condition near the treatment area, please reschedule your appointment.
• Ensure you are hydrated and have eaten a light meal before your appointment to maintain stable blood sugar levels.
2. Skin Preparation
• Do not apply skincare products containing Retinol, Retin-A, AHA, BHA, or any exfoliating acids one week before treatment.
• Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanning products on the treatment area for at least two weeks before your appointment.
• Ensure the treatment area is free from makeup, creams, or oils on the day of your appointment.
• If you are prone to cold sores and are having lip blush treatment, take an anti-viral medication (such as Aciclovir) a few days prior to minimize the risk of an outbreak.
3. Eyebrow Treatment Specifics
• Avoid any brow waxing, threading, or tinting for at least one week prior to treatment.
• Do not use any hair removal creams or bleach on the treatment area before your appointment.
4. Eyeliner Treatment Specifics
• Contact lens wearers should remove lenses before the appointment and avoid wearing them for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
• Discontinue the use of lash serums (such as RevitaLash) at least four weeks prior to prevent increased skin sensitivity.
• Do not wear mascara or eye makeup on the day of your appointment.
5. Lip Blush Treatment Specifics
• Exfoliate lips gently with a lip scrub and keep them moisturized with lip balm for a few days before treatment.
• Drink plenty of water to keep lips hydrated and prevent dryness.
• If prone to cold sores, take preventative anti-viral medication as advised by your doctor.
6. Medical Considerations
• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any underlying medical conditions, consult with your doctor before booking a treatment.
• Notify your technician of any allergies, previous reactions to pigments, or other medical concerns before your appointment.
By following these pre-treatment guidelines, you help ensure the best possible outcome for your permanent makeup procedure. If you have any questions, please contact us before your appointment.
